IV(R) Squadron – Change of Command 13 June 2013

From Wg Cdr Kev Marsh:

Today is my last as Officer Commanding IV(R) Squadron. Tomorrow my successor, Wing Commander Dan Beard, will formally take Command of IV(R) Squadron. Today also marks the graduation of the first students from the Hawk T2 in front of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton and I am very proud to announce that all 4 members of Course 001 will be going on to fly the Typhoon.

My time at RAF Valley flying the Hawk T2 has been amazing and has gone far too quickly. I have been extremely proud and honoured to have played a small part in the long and distinguished history of IV Squadron and I am sure that the Squadron will go from strength to strength. There have been so many highlights in my tour to choose from, but three really stand out: the Squadron Stand-up parade in November 11 in 60mph winds(!), the 27 aircraft EiiR flypast in May 2012 and, of course, the IV Centenary in September 2012.

I would like to formally thank you for your support to the Squadron and to me. May I wish you all the best for the future and I hope to meet you again at future Squadron reunions!
