From Mark Broadbent of Classic Aircraft magazine:
I’ve been commissioned by Classic Aircraft magazine (www.classic-aircraft.net) to write a history of IV Squadron to tie in with the squadron’s centenary. I’m therefore contacting you to request assistance with my research into this piece.
The article would cover the entire 100 years of the unit’s history, but given Classic Aircraft’s focus on the jet age it would focus on the post-1945 period an especially operations with Vampires and Harriers.
I would appreciate being placed in contact with ex-squadron members who are prepared and/or good at talking with the media in order to gain some ‘first-hand’ insights and accounts of interesting stories, events and general life on IV Squadron during its days operating Vampires, Hunters and Harriers.
Any assistance you can provide in terms of information, images and contacts will be very greatly appreciated.
Timings – it is intended to publish the article in November, so ideally I would like to be preparing it from now through to late Sept/early Oct when it will have to written and submitted to meet publishing deadlines.
I can be contacted at mbroadbent85@gmail.com.
Kind regards,
Mark Broadbent
