From Paul Hayden:

Hi Guys, Has anyone got information re a possible Harrier get together in 2011 prior to disbanding and further will there be a 4 Sqn 100th reunion in 2012? Paul

Harrier Party December?

I’m hearing rumours about a final Harrier bash, maybe at Wittering, maybe in December. Does anybody have more information on this?

Please share if you know…

WIWOH* Get Together

From Fito:

Gentlemen, This year’s Christmas get-together will be on Monday 20th December at the Railway Inn, Ketton from 7.30pm. Normal routine – for any newbies that means £10 a head in the kitty, everyone welcome (even WAGS!), stay as long as you want and have a beer or two with some old mates from […]

100th Reunion for IV(AC) and/or IV(R) SQN

Rambo Frith here (USAF Retired). Who is the designated Ents officer for the 100th reunion… 2012???…. Remember us airline pukes bid vacation one year in advance…. Jan for next Apr to Mar.

I’m at home with a broken fibula…. slipped on outside stairs taking the dog down for her business…. the dog is fine! Using […]

Brief 40th Report

From Spider Webb:

Every one was there (except Godber). Three Air Chief Marshals (Dick Johns, Clive Loader (both “Sirs”) & Boggy. Other than Dick Johns, I taught them all I knew (took 10 secs). Bas, Mike Allen, Rob Webb, Huttings, Kit Adams, Pat King (he tripped/fell over after the meal & was ambulanced off), Doddy, […]

Harrier 40th Photos

As far as I know, there were only three members of the IV(AC) Sqn Association at the 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner and Families’ Day – Geoff Hulley, Arthur Hancock and Pete Mears, although there were certainly many serving members present. I’m sure we’ll get a huge turn-out for the Sqn 100th in 2012.

My opinion […]

We Were There

[from Arthur Hancock] A shame that only three of us were there at the Cottesmore Families Day. Let’s hope more can make it in 2012.

Gala Dinner & Families’ Day Reports

I’m not going to be able to make either of the events this week. I’m on standby all July and I’ve already been called out for the simulator on Friday and Saturday.

Can anybody attending these events please send me a few lines on how it went, who was there, and some photos. I’ll edit […]

Follow Apollo 11 on Twitter

The Apollo 11 mission to the moon is being recreated online. There are lots of ways to follow it, but the best way is probably via Twitter.

We Choose The Moon

Three Twitter accounts have been created, one for Houston Mission Control, one for the Spacecraft and one for the Lunar Module. Follow […]

Families’ Day Application Form

If you’re not a serving member based at RAF Wittering or RAF Cottesmore you’ll need to be approved to gain access to the Families’ Day on Friday 24 July. If you haven’t yet received an Application Form, send an e-mail to this address and ask for one.

40th Gala Dinner – Update

If you’ve registered for the Harrier 40th Anniversary Dinner you’ll probably already have received this, from 20(R) Sqn at Wittering:

To date, over 350 personnel have signed up to attend the Gala Dinner; we have been pleasantly surprised that those who have registered to date represent all decades of the Harrier’s history from development through […]

Southend Air Show – Live Feed

James Harrod (twitter: @longpier) has let me know that he’ll be live blogging, twittering and uploading AV content to his website during the Southend Air Show this weekend.

Southend Air Show 2009

Our sister ATC Sqn, 444 (Shoreditch), will be helping at the Southend Air Show again this year, on Sunday 24 May and Monday 25 May. They’ve asked me to ask you to give them a call on the radio if you’re flying in the area on either day:

Air Cadet HF Radio Again this year […]

Harrier Reunion July

I’ve just realised that the Black Tie Dinner on Thursday 23rd July is only for people who have served directly with the Harrier Force i.e. no wives, ex-wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, partners, better halves etc. This is a shame – it’s probably a numbers thing.

Families are welcome at the Open Day on Friday. That’s when […]

Harrier 40th Black Tie Dinner

From Larry Chambers:

Has anyone please, any firm information for me? Due to the wheelchair etc. I’ll need to plan. mr.340@t-online.de or laurence.chambers@rolls-royce.com should do the trick if someone would be kind enough to pass me on the details.
